CHAPTER 236 An Act to amend and reenact § 27-36 of the Code of Virginia, relating to the appointment of assistant fire marshals. [H 899] Approved April 2, 1998

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 27-36 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 27-36. Appointment, powers and duties of assistant fire marshals.

The governing body of any county, city or town, or its designee may appoint one or more assistants, who, in the absence of the fire marshal, shall have the powers and perform the duties of the fire marshal.
