CHAPTER 178 An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 15.2-2119.1, relating to public utilities. [H 448] Approved March 30, 1998

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 15.2-2119.1 as follows:

§ 15.2-2119.1. Credit for excessive water or sewer charges.

A locality may provide a partial credit for excessive water and sewer charges where high water usage is caused by damaged pipes, leaks, accidents or other unintentional causes.

2. That the provisions of this act are declarative of existing law.
