1997 SESSION
HB 1941 Access of certain students to public school programs and activities.
Introduced by: Robert G. Marshall | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY:
Access of certain students to public school programs and activities. Mandates access of nonpublic and home-school students who are eligible to attend the public school in their respective attendance zones on a full-time basis to state-funded public school programs and activities in the division for which the student is included in the triennial census of the school-age population.
While home-schooled pupils are not included in a school division's average daily membership in calculating the local composite index, they are counted in the triennial census of the school population, used to determine the local share of state sales and use tax revenues. Joining resident pupils in each division's triennial census are students residing in orphanages and on military installations and students confined to state hospitals, mental institutions, and state and federal correctional institutions.
