Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. All agencies, institutions, and instrumentalities of state government shall maintain any work-related accommodations which existed on or before [ July 1 January 15 ] , 1997, for those employees who declared their disabilities on or before [ July 1 January 15 ] , 1997, [ except that persons employed as correctional officers shall receive work-related accommodations or be placed in another position for which they are qualified within the agency at comparable pay. ]
