AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE

A BILL to authorize the City of Richmond to return a portion of Oakwood Cemetery to the Commonwealth.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. Notwithstanding any contrary provision of law, general or special, the City of Richmond shall transfer to the Commonwealth that portion of the Oakwood Cemetery which originally belonged to the Commonwealth and was used for the burial of Confederate and Union soldiers. The City shall reimburse the Commonwealth the $30,000 which was paid to the City with the previous transfer of such property.
