Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

0 1. That Chapter 699 of the 1996 Acts of Assembly is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of § 19.2-353.3, the clerk of the circuit court in the County of Appomattox, Charlotte, Franklin, Sussex, Tazewell or Patrick may, in his discretion, accept credit card payment in lieu of money to collect and secure all fees, fines, restitution, forfeiture, penalties, and costs collected for offenses tried in circuit court, including motor vehicle violations, committed against the Commonwealth or against any such county.
