An Act for the relief of Sandra E. Kuehn.

Whereas, Sandra E. Kuehn is an employee of the Department of Corrections in Roanoke, Virginia, and is a participant in the Key Advantage Program; and

Whereas, the Key Advantage Program is offered to employees of the Department of Corrections and other employees of the Commonwealth to provide health care coverage for those employees and their families; and

Whereas, the Key Advantage Program is administered by Trigon Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Virginia; and

Whereas, Mrs. Kuehn gave birth to her first child, a son, on August 30, 1996, and submitted all medical bills resulting therefrom to Trigon Blue Cross/Blue Shield; and

Whereas, Trigon Blue Cross/Blue Shield notified Mrs. Kuehn that her son was not covered by the Key Advantage Program health insurance because he was not enrolled as a beneficiary within 31 days after his birth date; and

Whereas, Sandra E. Kuehn has no other means to obtain relief except by action of this body; now, therefore,

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. That there is hereby allocated from the general fund appropriation to the Department of Corrections the sum of $335 for the relief of Sandra E. Kuehn. This sum shall be paid by check issued by the State Treasurer on a warrant of the Comptroller to Sandra E. Kuehn, upon execution by her of a release of all claims against the Commonwealth and its political subdivisions, agencies, instrumentalities, officers or employees in connection with, or arising out of, the aforesaid occurrence.
