SUMMARY:

Powers and duties of school boards. Authorizes school boards to care for, manage and control property of the school division and to provide for the building and noninstructional operating of necessary school buildings by lease. Currently, school boards are not authorized to obtain buildings through leases. This bill adds the authority to lease school buildings to the authorities of school boards, thus allowing school boards to enter into build/lease contracts.

This bill is identical to HB 986.
