SUMMARY:
Powers and duties of school boards. Authorizes school boards to lease school buildings from private parties as part of the responsibilities to manage property of the school division and to provide for the erecting, furnishing, equipping, and noninstructional operating of necessary school buildings. This provision will allow school boards to enter into build/lease contracts for new school buildings, but will not authorize privatization of the school programs.
This bill is identical to SB 613.
