1996 SESSION
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 14.1-7 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 14.1-7. Traveling expenses on business of town, city or county.
Any person traveling on business of any county, city, or town except as
hereinafter provided, wherein no part of the cost is borne by the Commonwealth
may be reimbursed by such county, city, or town on a basis not in excess of
that provided for persons reimbursed by the Commonwealth when traveling on
state business established by the governing body of such county, city or
town; however, the rate of reimbursement per mile for private transportation
shall not exceed the standard rate deductible as a business expense pursuant to
the Internal Revenue Code and regulations promulgated thereunder.
