961491857Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 19.2-390.2 as follows:
§19.2-390.2. Use of VCC codes required.
On and after January 1, 1997, all reports to the Central Criminal Records Exchange and to any other criminal offense data base maintained by the State Police, the Supreme Court of Virginia, the Department of Corrections or the Department of Youth and Family Services shall include, in addition to specifying the offense covered by the report, the Virginia Crime Code (VCC) reference for the particular offense or offenses covered. The VCC references shall be promulgated and administered by the Department of Criminal Justice Services pursuant to § 9-170.
