Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Title 51.1 a section numbered 51.1-163.1 as follows:

§ 51.1-163.1. Survivor benefits.

After a member has attained at least twenty-five years of creditable service, survivor benefits paid pursuant to § 51.1-162 or § 51.1-163 shall be equal to each other.
