1996 SESSION
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 14.1-136 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 14.1-136. Statements required of clerks of courts of record; exceptions.
Every clerk of a court of record, except the Clerk Clerks
of the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals, the sheriff of
every city which does not operate a jail, except the sheriffs of the Cities of
Martinsville, Suffolk, and Winchester, shall annually, within fifteen
days after the close of each anniversary of the beginning of the term of his
office, file monthly with the State Compensation Board a full and
accurate statement showing all such fees, allowances, commissions, salaries or
other emolument of office, derived from the Commonwealth or any political
subdivision thereof, or from any other source whatever, collected or received
by him and a like statement of all such fees, allowances, commissions and
salaries, chargeable under the law, but not collected by him, during the year
ending December 31 next preceding. Such statements shall be verified by
affidavit a procedure agreed upon by the Compensation Board and the
Auditor of Public Accounts.
