CHAPTER 335 An Act to amend and reenact § 2.1-64.38 of the Code of Virginia, relating to the Department of Minority Business Enterprise. [H 1520] Approved March 22, 1996

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 2.1-64.38 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 2.1-64.38. Reports and recommendations; collection of data.

The Director shall, from time to time, submit directly or through an assistant to the Governor his recommendations for legislation or other action as he deems desirable to promote the purposes of this chapter. Each participating state department or agency shall report to the Director as hereinabove provided on a timely basis so that the Director may consider such reports for his report and recommendations to the Governor. Each participating state department or agency The Director, with the assistance of the Comptroller, shall develop and implement a systematic data collection processes process which will provide to the Department of Minority Business Enterprise Information Center current data helpful in evaluating and promoting the efforts herein described information for a report to the Governor and General Assembly on state expenditures to minority business enterprises during the previous fiscal year.
