SUMMARY:
Immunity for legal assistance programs. Grants immunity to lawyers who participate in good faith and without gross negligence or malicious intent in certain pro bono programs for providing legal assistance over the telephone to clients of a legal aid program funded by the Legal Services Corporation and developed jointly with the Young Lawyers Division of the Virginia Bar Association. Additionally, the Bar Association is specifically granted immunity for its good faith, nonmalicious activities in connection with these programs.
