LD1992164Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. Notwithstanding any contrary provision of law, general or
special, the governing body of the City of Norfolk, by ordinance, may
declare [ the body of water known as ] Pretty Lake, located
within the city's boundaries, a sanctuary for crabs and bar all incompatible
activities therefrom [ , including commercial crabbing ]
. The governing body in such ordinance may also designate navigational
channels on [ the lake said body of water ] .
The channels so designated, in the discretion of the governing body, may be
marked and, if marked, their use enforced by the city.
