LD2063300Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding of Chapter 1 of Title 34 a section numbered 34-3.2 as follows:
§ 34-3.2. Discharge of judgments.
Upon the filing of a certified copy of an order of discharge granted pursuant to subsection (a) of 11 U.S.C. § 727 (liquidation) with the clerk of the court authorized to record deeds for the county or city wherein the bankrupt resides and wherein any real estate owned by the bankrupt is situated, to the extent allowed by (i) 11 U.S.C. § 523 and subsection (b) of 11 U.S.C. § 727 and (ii) the provisions of this title, judgments recorded prior to the granting of the order of discharge against the bankrupt shall be discharged upon the bankrupt filing a list of such judgments to be so discharged.
