SUMMARY:

A.L. Philpott Manufacturing Research Center. Changes the Center's name to the A.L. Philpott Manufacturing Center; adds five additional citizen members and the Secretary of Commerce and Trade to the Center's governing board; and makes certain clarifying technical amendments. These amendments should facilitate the receipt of federal grant funds which have already been awarded. The University of Virginia Center for Public Service is authorized to provide staff support to the Center. Identical to HB 197, this measure has an emergency clause that makes it effective upon passage.
