SUMMARY:

Motor vehicle insurance; rental reimbursement coverage. Requires insurers issuing new or renewal motor vehicle insurance policies which provide comprehensive or collision coverage to offer (in writing) coverage for rental reimbursement. This coverage reimburses the insured for expenses incurred to rent a substitute vehicle if an owned vehicle is damaged by a peril covered by the insured's policy and the vehicle must be repaired or replaced. Insurers would be permitted to charge an appropriate premium for such coverage.
