SUMMARY:

Jails; authority of superintendent and officers. Gives to jail officers the same authority that sheriffs have to transport prisoners assigned to them to various authorized work and treatment programs. Under current law, jail personnel have to rely on local sheriffs' offices to provide transport for these purposes. This bill is identical to HB 874.
