SUMMARY AS PASSED SENATE:
Precious metals dealers; waiver of permit fee for certain merchants. Authorizes the chief law-enforcement officer of a locality to waive the fee for obtaining a previous metals dealer permit for a retail merchant, provided (i) the retail merchant has a permanent place of business and (ii) purchases of precious metals and gems do not exceed five percent of the retail merchant's annual business. This bill is identical to HB 192.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Precious metals dealers; retail merchants; exemption. Exempts purchases of precious metals or gems by a retail merchant from the statutory requirements of precious metals dealers, provided (i) the retail merchant has a permanent place of business and (ii) the purchases of precious metals and gems do not exceed five percent of the retail merchant's total business revenue.
