SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE: (all summaries)

Precious metals dealers; waiver of permit for certain merchants. Allows the chief law-enforcement officer to waive the permit fee for retail merchants that are not required to be licensed as pawnbrokers, provided (i) the retail merchant has a permanent place of business and (ii) the purchases of precious metals or gems do not exceed five percent of the retail merchant's total business revenue. This bill is identical to SB 95.
