SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Virginia Information Technologies Agency; private institutions of higher education. Provides for the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) to allow private institutions of higher education chartered in Virginia and granted tax-exempt status under § 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code to purchase directly from contracts established for state agencies and public bodies. The bill also requires VITA to seek the assistance of the Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia and the Division of Purchases and Supply of the Department of General Services in establishing and maintaining a list of private educational institutions authorized to make such purchases. This bill is identical to SB 392.
