13103997DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. The Department of Medical Assistance Services shall include in its plan for medical assistance services pursuant to Title XIX of the United States Social Security Act and any amendments thereto a provision for coverage of individuals in Virginia meeting criteria as specified under Section 2001(a) of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (P.L. 111-148), as amended by the Health Care and Education and Reconciliation Act of 2010 (P.L. 111-152).
§ 2. The Department of Medical Assistance Services shall seek federal authority through any necessary waivers or State Plan authorization under Titles XIX and XXI of the Social Security Act to reform the Virginia Medicaid/FAMIS service delivery model to seek added flexibility, efficiency, and cost savings in delivering quality medical services to all recipients.
§ 3. The provisions of § 1 shall expire if federal financial participation for the expanded program is reduced below 90 percent.
§ 4. The Department of Medical Assistance Services shall have the authority to implement the provisions of this act no earlier than January 1, 2014 and prior to the completion of any regulatory process undertaken to effect such changes.
