SUMMARY AS ENACTED WITH GOVERNOR'S RECOMMENDATION:
Officers of election; training. Provides that the State Board of Elections shall require certification that officers of election have been trained consistent with the training standards set by the Board. Such certification shall be submitted by the local electoral board each year before the November general election. The bill also provides that each local electoral board shall certify that such training has been conducted every four years.

Officers of election; training. Provides that the State Board of Elections shall require certification that officers of election have been trained consistent with the training standards set by the Board. Such certification shall be submitted every four years by the local electoral board or general registrar that conducts the training.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Officers of election; training. Provides that the State Board of Elections shall develop and make available on the Internet a course and examination concerning the training standards for officers of election. The chief and assistant chief officer of elections will be required to take and complete the course and examination not less than three nor more than 30 days before each election. Other officers of election may, but are not required to, take and complete the course and examination.
