SUMMARY AS ENACTED WITH GOVERNOR'S RECOMMENDATION:
Hampton Roads Transportation Authority. Abolishes the Authority and the taxes, fees, and charges dedicated to financing its operation and programs. This bill also makes several technical changes. This bill is the same as HB 1580.
SUMMARY AS PASSED SENATE:
Hampton Roads Transportation Authority. Abolishes the Hampton Roads Transportation Authority and repeals the various taxes associated with the Authority and local governments embraced by the Authority. The bill also requires that the Statewide Transportation Plan incorporate long-range plan measures and goals developed by the Hampton Roads Metropolitan Planning Organization, instead of those of the Authority. This bill is all but identical to HB 1580 (Oder).
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Hampton Roads Transportation Authority; composition. Removes the Counties of James City and York and the Cities of Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, and Williamsburg from the Hampton Roads Transportation Authority.
