SUMMARY AS PASSED:

Replacing "mentally retarded" with "intellectual disability." Replaces the terms "mentally retarded" and "mental retardation" with the term "intellectual disability" throughout the Code of Virginia.  This bill contains a reenactment clause.  This bill is identical to SB 620 (Ticer).

SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:

Replacing "mentally retarded" with "intellectually disabled."  Replaces the term "mentally retarded" with the term "intellectually disabled" and replaces the term "mental retardation" with the term "intellectual disability" in the Code of Virginia.
