Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 32.1-170.1 as follows:

§ 32.1-170.1. Regulations regarding water meters.

In addition to the requirements of § 32.1-170, regulations of the Board governing waterworks shall also require [ new ] water meters [ up to 2 inches ] installed after January 1, [ 2004 2005 ] to conform with American National Standards Institute/National Sanitation Foundation Standard 61, Drinking Water System Components.
