Sale of forfeited property. Provides that a court may authorize the gift of scales and balances to a person or entity when forfeited pursuant to a drug prosecution if the person or entity can show sufficient need and a publicly beneficial use for the property. This bill incorporates HB 1867.

SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Sale of forfeited property. Provides that a court may authorize the sale of property forfeited pursuant to a drug prosecution for less than market value, or for a nominal fee, to an organization granted tax-exempt status under § 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code if the organization can show a use for the property and there is no objection by the participating law-enforcement agencies.
