SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Study; expanded number, hours of operation, and mission of highway weighing stations. Requests the Virginia Department of Transportation, with the assistance of the Department of State Police, to study expanding the number, hours of operation, and mission of highway weighing stations, to assess the desirability, feasibility, and cost/benefit of having more weighing stations, having them operate 24 hours a day and seven days a week, and performing safety inspections of trucks at the stations.
