SUMMARY AS PASSED:
Health; Medicaid forecasting. Requires the Department of Planning and Budget, in cooperation with the Department of Medical Assistance Services, to prepare and submit an estimate of Medicaid expenditures for the current year and a forecast for the next two years. Currently, the Department of Planning and Budget assists in this forecast. The bill provides that the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission will receive such forecast. The bill also repeals the sunset clause of July 1, 2004 and is identical to SB 515.
SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:
Health; Medicaid forecasting. Requires the Department of Planning and Budget, in cooperation with the Department of Medical Assistance Services, to prepare and submit an estimate of Medicaid expenditures for the current year and a forecast for the next two years. Currently, the Department of Planning and Budget assists in this forecast. The bill provides that the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission will receive such forecast. The bill also repeals the sunset clause of July 1, 2004.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Health; Medicaid forecasting. Changes the date from November 15 to November 1 of each year that the Department of Medical Assistance Services must prepare and submit an estimate of Medicaid expenditures for the current year and a forecast for the next two years. Currently, the Department of Planning and Budget assists in this forecast, and the bill provides that the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission will also assist in the forecast. The bill also repeals the sunset clause of July 1, 2004.
