HB 1200 Grant program for respite care services.
Introduced by: M. Kirkland Cox | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY AS PASSED: (all summaries)
Grant program for respite care services. Provides up to $100,000 in matching funds to organizations for the development or expansion of adult day care services or other services that provide respite care to aged, infirm or disabled adults. The bill sets out the process for applying for grants, and authorizes the Department for the Aging to examine the books and records of the community respite care organization to verify that it has satisfied the grant requirements. The bill also will not become effective unless an appropriation effectuating the purpose of the bill is included in the 2000 appropriation act enacted into law by the Governor. SB 518 provides a similar grant program for respite care services, but does not include the appropriation contingency.
