Introduced by: J. Randy Forbes | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles
SUMMARY AS PASSED: (all summaries)
Grant program for respite care services. Provides up to $100,000 in matching funds to organizations for the development, expansion or start-up operation of adult day care services or other services that provide respite care to aged, infirm or disabled adults. The bill sets out the process for applying for grants, and authorizes the Department for the Aging to examine the books and records of the community respite care organization to verify that it has satisfied the grant requirements. HB 1200 provides a similar grant program for respite services but includes a provision that the act will not become effective unless an appropriation effectuating the purpose of the bill is included in the 2000 appropriation act enacted into law by the Governor.
