SUMMARY:
Enterprise Zone Act; eligibility. Allows the Governor to waive the requirement, for pharmaceutical, health care, and home care products companies which are expanding for research and development purposes, that at least 40 percent of the new employees employed at a qualified business firm either (i) have incomes below 80 percent of the area median income for the jurisdiction prior to employment or (ii) are residents of the zone, following receipt and review of an application by the mayor or chairman of the board of supervisors for the jurisdiction in which the waiver is being requested.
