SUMMARY:

Land exchange. Exchanges a parcel of land owned by the Board of Game and Inland Fisheries known as the Pettigrew Wildlife Management Area in Caroline County for a parcel of property, as yet undetermined but which is to be at least two and one-half times the size of Pettigrew and of equal or greater value. Approximately 70 percent of the property conveyed by the Board is to be placed under a perpetual conservation easement granted to Caroline County or a state or local agency designated by the county and dedicated to open space uses. The area covered by the perpetual easement is to include, at a minimum, an undeveloped 1,000 foot buffer parallel to Route 17.

The bill also gives General Assembly approval for the transfer of approximately five acres of College Woods (at the College of William and Mary) to the Department of Transportation for a right-of-way along Route 199 in James City County.
