SUMMARY:

Property transfer. Authorizes the Department of Conservation and Recreation, with the approval of the Governor and the Attorney General, to lease and subsequently to convey George Washington's Grist Mill State Park to the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association of the Union. The bill directs the Department and the Association to enter into a memorandum of understanding which sets out each party's responsibilities for matters such as capital investment, staffing, programming, and maintenance and operations support. If the park is conveyed after the initial lease term, the deed must contain a reverter clause and require that the property be maintained and open to public use.

This bill is identical to SB 147.
