SUMMARY:
Federal retirees missing deadline for filing. Authorizes the Tax Commissioner to enter into settlement agreements with retired federal and military taxpayers who missed the filing deadlines in previous settlement legislation. To qualify, a retiree must have contacted the Tax Department by June 10, 1996. Payments will equal 76.5 percent of the retiree's overpayment of taxes, and will be paid in installments through March 31, 1999. The bill contains an emergency clause.
