SUMMARY:
Interstate ozone reduction agreements. Prohibits state agencies from entering into any agreement related to the transport of ozone without General Assembly approval if the proposed agreement contains emission control requirements exceeding those required by applicable law. The bill also requires the Virginia Economic Development Partnership and the Department of Environmental Quality to conduct a study of the impact of such a proposed agreement on the state's economy. This is a recommendation of the Coal and Energy Commission.
