SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Probation; possession of controlled substance by confidential informant. Provides that the court shall permit a person under the court's supervision to (i) serve as a confidential informant and (ii) possess controlled substances in furtherance of his duties as a confidential informant while under the supervision of law-enforcement officers upon motion by the attorney for the Commonwealth and based on an allegation that such person has information that could assist law enforcement with the interdiction or prosecution of the distribution of controlled substances. The bill bars prosecution of a confidential informant for possession or distribution of controlled substances while the confidential informant is performing his duties under the supervision of law-enforcement officers.
