An Act to amend and reenact § 5 of Chapters 237 and 710 of the Acts of Assembly of 2014, which provided a charter for the Town of Victoria, relating to election of mayor and council.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 5 of Chapters 237 and 710 of the Acts of Assembly of 2014 is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 5. Election of mayor and council.

The mayor shall be elected for a term of two years. The members of council and mayor in office at the effective date of this amendment are hereby continued in office for the terms for which they were elected. On the first Tuesday in May 1972 During the general election in November 2022, there shall be elected by the electors of the town three councilmen council members from the town at large, who shall serve for terms of four years each. On the first Tuesday in May 1974 During the general election in November 2024 and every two years thereafter, there shall be elected by the electors of the town three councilmen council members from the town at large, who shall serve for terms of four years each. The mayor and councilmen council members shall take office on the first day of July January following their election.
