20200535DBe it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 3 of Chapter 2 of Title 32.1 a section numbered 32.1-48.001 as follows:
§ 32.1-48.001. Reports of suspected violations of orders and regulations during a public health emergency; penalty.
A. Any system created by the Department to receive information regarding an alleged violation of an order or regulation of the Board or the Commissioner enacted in response to a public health emergency related to a communicable disease of public health threat shall require, for each report received, the name, home address, telephone number, and email address of the individual making the report.
B. Any person who knowingly makes a false report regarding a violation of an order or regulation of the Board or the Commissioner enacted in response to a public health emergency related to a communicable disease of public health threat is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.
2. That an emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
