An Act to amend and reenact § 6, as amended, and § 7 of Chapter 206 of the Acts of Assembly of 1934 and to repeal §§ 10, 11, and 12 of Chapter 206 of the Acts of Assembly of 1934, which provided a charter for the Town of Quantico, relating to town officers.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 6, as amended, and § 7 of Chapter 206 of the Acts of Assembly of 1934 are amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 6. The officers of the said town, in addition to the mayor and councilmen, shall be a treasurer, a clerk, and a sergeant. The treasurer, clerk and sergeant may reside within or outside the town boundaries. The council may by ordinance provide for such other officers, agents, and employees as it may deem appropriate, prescribe their duties and fix their compensation. The treasurer, clerk, and sergeant shall be elected by the council for a term of two years coincident with that of the council. The office of treasurer and clerk may be filled by the same person, who may by a vote of two-thirds of all the members of the council, be a member of the council.

§ 7. The council shall fix the salaries of the mayor, councilmen, treasurer, clerk, and sergeant, and such other officers or agents as it may employ, which shall not be increased or diminished during their term of office of such officer or agent.

2. That §§ 10, 11, and 12 of Chapter 206 of the Acts of Assembly of 1934 are repealed.
