SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Assault and battery; certain students. Provides that a student who is the subject of an individualized education program required by the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act cannot be found guilty of assault or assault and battery against law-enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, or certain corrections officials or of battery against a school employee if the crime occurred on school property or a school bus or at a school-sponsored event. This bill was incorporated into HB 1213.
