SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Study; JCHC to study of the feasibility of developing a program of trained primary care personnel to extend the reach of primary care services and reduce health care costs in the Commonwealth; report. Directs the Joint Commission on Health Care to study (i) the feasibility of developing and (ii) the potential impacts on access to and the quality and cost of health care resulting from implementation of a program whereby individuals are trained to provide primary health care services through telephone contacts and home visits, in accordance with standardized protocols and under the supervision of a licensed nurse or physician, using the Grande-Aides model or a similar program.
