SUMMARY AS PASSED SENATE: (all summaries)
Certified elevator mechanics. Extends the time for compliance with elevator mechanic licensure requirements for individuals who install, service, or repair wheelchair lifts, incline chairlifts, dumbwaiters, and residential elevators until July 1, 2010. The bill also provides for the Board for Contractors to convene a group of stakeholders to evaluate the level of regulation appropriate for individuals who install, service, or repair wheelchair lifts, incline chairlifts, dumbwaiters, residential elevators, and Limited Use Limited Application (LULA) elevators and provide recommendations to the Senate Committee on General Laws and Technology and the House Committee on General Laws by November 30, 2009.
