SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Graduation; verified units of credit; locally developed alternative assessments. Requires the Board of Education, in establishing course and credit requirements for a high school diploma, to provide for the award of verified units of credit to students who have demonstrated proficiency in a Standards of Learning (SOL) content area by achieving a satisfactory score on a locally developed alternative assessment in lieu of the SOL assessment, except in the case of a federally required SOL assessment.
