SUMMARY AS PASSED: (all summaries)

Substance abuse. Requests the Department of Social Services, Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services, Department of Medical Assistance Services, and Department of Rehabilitative Services to evaluate the current program under way to treat in a comprehensive manner the substance abuse treatment needs of current welfare recipients; to explore ways to make such program more effective; and to evaluate the use of such a program for other substance abuse clients. This is a recommendation of the Joint Subcommittee to Evaluate the Future Delivery of Publicly Funded Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services.
