SUMMARY AS PASSED: (all summaries)

Charter; City of Newport News. Provides for the election of six council members from districts for four-year staggered terms and for the at-largeelection of a mayor. A vacancy in the office of mayor shall be filled in the same manner as a member of council. The charter is updated to reflect the City's current practice for election of school board members. This bill is identical to HB 1614.
