SUMMARY AS PASSED:
Elections procedures; precinct registered voter lists and pollbooks. Authorizes the State Board of Elections to conduct pilot projects using a combined printed precinct voter registration list and pollbook in place of the present two printouts during 1999 elections.
SUMMARY AS PASSED SENATE:
Elections procedures, precinct registered voter lists and pollbooks, voter count sheets, and the conduct of elections. Provides for one combined printed precinct voter registration list and pollbook in place of the present two printouts used by two officers of election to record each voter as he offers to vote. The bill provides for one officer to hold the combined list and for the second officer to record on a numbered voter count sheet a cross-reference to the combined list for each voter in sequence. The bill takes effect April 1, 2000, and authorizes test or pilot projects in advance of that date to prepare for the changes.
