Year 2000; sense of the General Assembly of Virginia. Expresses the sense of the General Assembly that state agencies and institutions avoid certain dates for the implementation of new programs or procedures as they prepare for the Year 2000. Dates that may be affected by “the millennium bug” include April 1, 1999; April 9, 1999; July 1, 1999; September 9, 1999; October 1, 1999; December 31, 1999; January 1, 2000; February 29, 2000; March 1, 2000; December 31, 2000; and January 1, 2001. The resolution is a recommendation of the Joint Commission on Technology and Science.
